We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to strengthen and accelerate our growth in the Railway market.. The ideal candidate for this role will be a practical, disciplined and organized individual, able to work independently and efficiently on his/her own leads and accounts, with a primary focus on the French market. He/she will develop compelling business proposals to address unique industry challenges which will then be presented to prospective clients.

What do we expect from you?

  • Developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge of the marketplace with special attention to key accounts, attending relevant networking, events and activities which result in lead generation and sales.
  • Grooming close relationships with key stakeholders in key business accounts in the French Railway market.
  • Generating sales from existing (and new) customers and accounts through:
    o Researching and identifying new contacts and leads.
    o Developing business development plans and market propositions.
    o Networking and utilizing social media e.g. LinkedIn.
    o Attending virtual and physical events to create leads and opportunities.
  • Following up new business opportunities and leads, developing strong, new relationships, producing compelling propositions and closing deals.
  • Planning, preparing and giving presentations and capability demonstrations.
  • Develop a geography strategy to define which steps to pursue in order to increase business pipeline in the French market.

      What makes you a good candidate for this role?

      • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
      • 10+ years of experience in business development / pre-sales of bespoke software development and related engineering services.
      • Knowledge and experience in the Railway market.
      • Strategic account management experience, with an ability to understand and develop deals from a financial perspective.
      • Consultative style, keen and comfortable in developing relationships and networking independently, whilst also able to help peers in their team.
      • Excellent French and English skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to clearly articulate technical requirements and determining how they can be addressed with software services, systems, and solutions.
      • Commitment to embark upon regular EU travel and occasional wider travel outside EU.
      • Strategic, out of the box, big-picture thinker, able to align multiple strategies and ideas.
      • Risk, finance and budget management.
      • Contract management experience and negotiating skills.
